I carry the 9mm Critical Duty ammo from Hornady in my defensive pistol because of its claimed superior barrier penetration capabilities. I decided to put the Critical Duty to the test by seeing how it penetrated sheet metal, 3/4″ wood and then how it performed in ballistic gel. I also tested the 147gr Gold Dot for comparaison.
