Then, Kevin Mitnick was released for three years on supervised release. But towards the end of that period, Kevin Mitnick fled.
He went on a hacking spree over two and a half years that involved breaching the national defense alert system and stealing company secrets. He was finally arrested and sentenced to five years in prison.
Afterwards, Kevin Mitnick became a consultant and public speaker for computer security. He now runs Mitnick Security Consulting, LLC.

He was arrested in New York at the age of 22 for debit card fraud related to stealing data from millions of card accounts. To avoid prison time, Albert became an informant for the Secret Service, eventually helping to indict dozens of Shadowcrew members.
For his actions, Albert was sentenced to 20 years in prison and is scheduled to be released in 2025.

He was later arrested in a supermarket (of all places) and sentenced to 51 months in prison and billed for $56,000 in restitution.
After being released from prison in 1995, Kevin changed his way of life. He started working as a journalist and is now a contributing editor for Wired.
