In this video I’d like to show you how to prepare your XYZprinting da Vinci 1.0A/1.0/1.0AiO 3D printer to use third-party filament instead of the cartridges by XYZprinting. I will guide you step-by-step through the process and explain what is being done. After removing the old filament and cartridge, I show how to set up your Arduino to do the EEPROM modifications and guide you through the parameters. Then I analyze the results from the flash and install the cartridge with an external filament roll on the back of the printer.

I’m using a da Vinci 1.0A 3D printer with the latest stock firmware and the latest version of XYZware. I have not encountered any issues so far. I decided to go for the high-quality and premium filament by Voltivo (1.75mm ABS, natural beige), because I wanted to improve my print quality while reducing printing costs.
The da Vinci 1.0A printer is an excellent piece of machinery, that is capable of delivering serious performance and quality, considering its dramatically low price point and enclosed design, which makes it very attractive to first time buyers and people that are in general new to computer-aided manufacturing (CAM).
